AMPLIFIERS - FACTS AND TIPS
  • Amplifier designs vary ; read the manual to ensure you don’t cause damage by incorrect connections.
  • Stereo mode ; the amp operates as 2 independent mono amps with separate inputs, outputs and levels
  • Parallel mode ; the amp operates as a pair of mono amps with shared input. Usually the levels are still independent
  • Bridge mode ; both sides of the amp operate together as a single, larger mono amp with only one input and one output.
  • Ground lift ; in the event of a hum, (caused by the earth connections of different parts of your rig being at slightly different voltages, caused by poor wiring or maintenance in many buildings) the ground lift switch may reduce this by breaking the signal earth. Note that this does NOT affect the safety earth.
