If your child attends an LEA (Local Education Authority) school and they want to play a musical instrument, then you can take advantage of the Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme, which means that you do NOT pay the VAT on your purchase. This saves you almost a fifth on our already discounted prices, meaning massive savings overall. HOW TO BUY USING AIPS The scheme is simple. Choose your instrument from our website, or by visiting our showrooms, and complete a Purchase Scheme form that will be provided by your child’s school. They will need details of the instrument, the price and our name, address and contact details. They will also ask you for full payment of the VAT free amount. We will then receive an official order from the school and will deliver your chosen instrument to the school premises for collection by you or your child. We deliver to any school in the UK within one working day of them placing the order with us. To date we have helped hundreds of young musicians buy their instruments at unbelievable prices. COMMON QUESTIONS Some schools, particularly smaller ones, may be unaware of the AIPS scheme, and ask if it is legal. The answer of course, is yes! Parents of children attending independent schools often ask us if they are eligible to purchase under the scheme. CONDITONS OF THE AIPS SCHEME Your child must be in full time education at an LEA school and must be receiving musical tuition at the school as part of the national curriculum. Private tuition that supports curricular activities like musical examinations is also acceptable in some cases.
